A first

Today represents another new, sucky thing about long-distance relationships.
This is the first time in 5 years that I haven't been around on the Grackle's birthday. Even when doing field work 3000 miles away, I managed to get back for a Sunday B-day! We aren't usually into big birthday celebrations....but it is always nice to have a reason for a lovely dinner or date night.
Tonight he'll be off to dinner and watching Lost with friends and I'm sure it will be quite the celebration*. As for me, internet has been successfully installed in my abode so I have blogs to catch up on** and about 5 hours of Lost to watch for myself.
Since my mind is elsewhere anyways, it may as well get caught up in some decent tv...

*Two of my ex-labmates also celebrate their birthdays tomorrow.
** Yay!!!!

Long distance is hard...and then it is hard when you are suddenly no longer long distance. Gak!

Thanks Sneks- you're the best!

ScienceGirl- Thanks you so much! We both kept busy and it wasn't too bad- just another day...and another day closer to seeing each other again!

Wayfarer- luckily this is more commuting so I am hoping that re-adjusting won't be too hard. We'll go through it every few weeks!

Aw, well it sounded like Grackle had a great day.

Oh, and how good is LOST this season? Last season was a tad lame (I thought), but I really like this one so far...

It's tough to miss events... Husband and I are still living together for the time being, and we're missing everything with his call schedule -- he missed my birthday, a bunch of the stupid little month anniversaries that I don't care about but other people seem to think mean something (1 month, 3 months, 6 months, etc), will be on call on Valentine's Day, on call on our 1 year anniversary, and then by the time my birthday rolls around again, he'll have moved (and I don't think he'll be driving 3 hours to have dinner with me and turning around to drive 3 hours back!).

The way I see it, when we ARE together for my birthday in 4 or so years, he just owes me one huge helluva celebration! :)

Unbalanced- I am sooo far behind! I still have 3 hours to watch!

EtBr-Now can Husband cook up a spread for your big party that rivals your recent superbowl spread?
