WTF

So, this animal rights group  wants ice cream made of breast milk? For reals?

I admit, I don't know that much about babies or breastfeeding. But just the idea of mass market production of breast milk seems pretty creepy. Not because it is breast milk but because they make a helluva lot of ice cream.
In the letter they go into how wrong it is that cows are impregnated every nine months to assure production of enough milk to support the industry. So, how are you going to assure production of human breast milk? How many pregnant women would it take to produce as much milk as 1 pregnant cow* in the first place?

I guess there should be enough if all of us are having lots of babies like we are supposed to.
Ugh.

* did I really just ask that?

Yeah. Read that story. Was thinking the product wouldn't exactly fly off the shelves.

Hmm. Maybe once bambino is born I should pump and save and make breast milk ice cream in my home ice cream maker?

I bet the folks at Ben & Jerry had a good chuckle over the request.

If we were to suddenly switch from bovine to human milk for our dairy products... (Or if PETA had their way with the world..)

...what would happen to the cows once we have no use for them? They arn't exactly wild animals...

Whats next, human steaks?

Not to mention the public health concerns of consuming other people's bodily fluids! Gross!

I immediately thought what EGF said. Consuming other people's bodily fluids?!? Icky! Besides, just think about how expensive disease screening would be. But it does give a whole new meaning to food poisoning.

profgrrrl- but where to find a recipe?

eugenie- LOL! One time there was a cow walking down my street as a kid...not wild though. You should watch last weeks 'It's always sunny in Philadelphia'. All about human meat.

EGF and amanda- good points. I didn't even get that far in my thinking about it!
